OPEN DIVISION - American Saddlebred Horse Futurity of INDIANA
GENERAL PROVISIONS
The Three Divisions The American Saddlebred Horse Futurity of INDIANA will be shown in three divisions: Weanlings, Yearlings,
and Two-Year Olds.
WHAT COLT's All colts shown must be the produce of stallions and mares who have been previously registered by the American
ARE ELIGIBLE Saddlebred Horse Association.
NOMINATION OF SIRE
How to Nominate To nominate a stallion in the Futurity it is necessary: (1) That the stallion be registered by the American Saddlebred
the SIRE Horse Association Stud Book, and, (2) that a fee of $50.00 be paid to the Futurity on or before May 1st of the year the
foal is nominated.
NOMINATION OF DAM
How to Nominate To nominate a mare in the Futurity it is necessary: (1) That the mare be registered by the American Saddlebred
The DAM Horse Association Stud Book, and, (2) that a fee of $20.00 e paid to the Futurity on or before May 1st of the year in
which the foal is to be eligible for the Weanling Division of the Futurity.
THE WEANLING DIVISION
How to Make A In order to make a foal eligible to show in the WEANLING Division of the Futurity, the following conditions must be
WEANLING Eligible complied with:
(1) The sire and dam must be nominated in the Futurity, the year in which the foal is born.
(2) One time fee of $50.00 must be paid to the Futurity on or before May 1st of the year the foal is born.
HOW SHOWN, The entries in this division shall be shown In Hand.
THE YEARLING DIVISION
How to Keep The In order to make a colt, filly, or gelding eligible to show in the YEARLING Division of the Futurity, the following
Yearling Eligible conditions must be complied with:
(1) The Colt, filly, or gelding must have been entered in the Weanling Division of Futurity and all conditions and
requirements of that Division must have been fulfilled.
(2) One time fee of $50.00 must be paid to the Futurity on or before May 1st of the year following the birth of the foal.
HOW SHOWN, The entries in this division shall be shown In Hand.
THE TWO-YEAR OLD DIVISION
How to Keep The In order to make a colt, filly, or gelding eligible to show in the Two-Year Old Division of the Futurity, the following
Two-Year Old conditions must be complied with:
(1) The colt, filly, or gelding must have been entered in the Weanling and Yearling Division of the Futurity and all
conditions and requirements of those Divisions must have been fulfilled.
(2) One time fee of $50.00 must be paid to the Futurity on or before May 1st of the year the entry becomes a Two-Year
Old.
HOW SHOW, The entries in this division shall be shown as a Fine Harness Class.
PRIZES
How The Prizes In each division the winner will receive 35% of the prize fund of that division; second, 20%; third, 16%;
Are Divided fourth, 10%; fifth, 8%; sixth, 6%; seventh, 3%, eighth, 2%; ninth, $200; and tenth, $200.
The nominator of the dam of the winning foal in the WEANLING Division will receive $100.00. The nominator of the
dam of the second place foal in the WEANLING Division will receive $50.00.
The nominator of the sire of the winning foal of the WEANLING Division will receive $100.00, and the nominator of
the sire of the second place foal in the WEANLING Division will receive $50.00.
The value of the Prize Fund of the Futurity each year shall be the total amount of money paid in fees., miscellaneous
funds, and added donations less administrative expenses. Each year the specific awards to the nominators of the
sires and dams will be deducted before the division of the Prize Fund among the three regular divisions of the
Futurity.
The Prize Fund shall be divided equally between the Weanlings, Yearlings, and Two-Year Old Division.
FEES
WHERE TO Make checks payable to the American Saddlebred Horse Open Futurity of INDIANA.
PAY FEES DO NOT FORGET THE $5.00 MEMBERSHIP FEE.
LIABILITY
No entry is liable for more than the amount paid in but there will be no return of payment. The right is reserved to
reject any entry, and to debar any entry from competition for failure to comply with the conditions of the Futurity.
RULES &
REGULATIONS (1) The use of artificial appliances or devices on weanlings and yearlings such as chains, shackles, rubber bands or
blindfolds is prohibited on the grounds before or during a show. Smooth, round leather straps are allowed.
(2) Blinker hoods with half-cups mounted in the vertical position so as to allow forward vision are allowed on
weanlings and yearlings on the grounds before or during a show.
(3) Weanlings and yearlings must show with uncut, unset tails; tail sets worn on the show grounds in preparation for
the show are expressly prohibited.
(4) The use of curb bits on weanlings and yearlings is prohibited.
Any entry with prohibited equipment must be disqualified from further competition and shall forfeit all entry fees and
winnings.
